Curtis R. Wiedeman, CLU, ChFC
Curtis Wiedeman has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He specializes in offering customized retirement, asset protection and estate planning solutions to small and mid-sized business owners and self-employed individuals.
The depth and range of experience Curtis offers is greatly appreciated by his clients who value the individual attention, and his “leave no stone unturned” approach to finding solutions that are uniquely crafted to their situation. When asked what he enjoyed most about his work Curtis replied, “It is the knowledge that my clients are protected financially against life’s tragedies which allows them to enjoy a secure retirement.”
Curtis received his BS degree in accounting and finance from Fort Hays State University in 1978. During his senior year, he launched his insurance career as a College Representative for Northwestern Mutual Life. In 1982 Curtis received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation and then in 1984 his designation as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). The CLU designation denotes that Curtis is a specialist in insurance and estate planning. While the ChFC designation indicates his in-depth knowledge of the skills needed to perform comprehensive financial planning for his clients.
Curtis built two successful financial service agencies before joining Woodmen Accident & Life in 1992 as Director of Training. In 1996 he relocated to Elgin, IL to build a financial services practice, providing intergenerational insurance and investment planning. Curtis joined Mueller & Co., LLP in 2003 heading up the Asset Protection division of Mueller Financial Services, Inc.
Curtis has served in leadership positions with the following associations:
- Past President of the Southern Minnesota Chapter of Financial
- Services Professionals
- Currently President of the Elgin Breakfast Rotary Club
Curtis is also active with many other organizations serving in various board positions. In addition to his professional and civic involvement, he is an accomplished speaker on financial and estate planning topics.
